Iglesia Unida in the Bronx

Speeding along Prospect Ave, I glanced down Macy Place and the sight of the United Church-Iglesia Unida at the end of the short block popped out at me. I thought it was Russian Orthodox. But it’s (I’m Googling). . .
The painted brown windows cover stained glass, so I’m guessing at one time it might have been a different denomination.
When I started taking pictures of the church, I found myself hearing the song Young Hearts Run Free by Kym Mazelle. I imagined a wild dance party with disco lights flashing on the street out in front of me. It reminded me of a scene from Baz Lurhman’s Romeo and Juliet . . .
